Vanilla Buttercream icing

Ingredients

1) 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

2) 4 – 5 cups (480-600g) confectioners’ sugar (see note)

3) 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream, half-and-half, or whole milk, at room temperature

4) 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

5) salt, to taste

Instructions

--> With a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add 4 and 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar, the heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium-high speed and beat for 2 full minutes. Taste. Add a pinch of salt if frosting is too sweet. I always add 1/8 teaspoon.

--> Adjust if needed: You can control the consistency at this point– add up to 1/2 cup more confectioners’ sugar if frosting is too thin or more heavy cream if frosting is too thick (add only 1 Tablespoon at a time, beat together, then taste and add more if desired).

Use immediately or cover tightly and store for up to 1 week in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer. After freezing, thaw in the refrigerator then beat the frosting on medium speed for a few seconds so it’s creamy again. After thawing or refrigerating, beating in a splash of heavy cream or milk will help thin the frosting out again, if needed.

Notes

Quantity: This recipe is enough to frost 12-16 cupcakes or a thin layer on a 9×13 inch quarter sheet cake.

Confectioners’ Sugar: If your confectioners’ sugar is particularly lumpy, I recommend sifting it 1-2x before measuring and using.

Heavy Cream: I love using heavy cream for the creamiest consistency. You can use half-and-half or whole milk instead if needed. The lower the fat, the less creamy your buttercream will be. Whichever you use, make sure it’s at room temperature. Otherwise your frosting could separate or appear grainy.

Review Ek Tha Tiger

Though I am sure many will watch this flick without reading any reviews and thats the fan following Sallu enjoys :D
Any Salman Khan film typically begins with the uproar of whistles by his crazy die-hard fans, this one is no exception :)
The film begins as expected a briefing of RAW and ISI, and Salman (Tiger) does an impeccable action stint shot somewhere in Iraq and grips the audience with his signature style, when he throws money over and escapes with a winning smile from the crowd ;)
His next assignment In Ireland, in which he bumps into a sexy housekeeper Katrina (Zoya).. The chemistry shown between the two is the best so far on screen when I compare to their last flick Yuvraj !!
Salman makes formals look stylish even on a date :P
I will not let out here the supense between Tiger and Zoya, but by interval time one is really left with a ques, does Tiger exists only as a agent, or he had a human side of love to him :)
The second half Katrina turns almost like a Kat-Woman, doing all possible stunts which one may have never imagined from Kat, and she proves that she is much more than a barbie doll :)
Its always fun to see Salman fight for his love and he has done it yet again with the utmost passion..
Istanbul, Havana look beautiful in the second half, and the action sequences are entertaining !!
End is slightly abrupt I feel, and was expected as per bollywood style

Being a Salman Khan Fan, the review may be baised, but still a paisa vasool movie :)
4.5/5 for it, wait for this movie to rock the box-office collections, all other Khans will be having new benchmarks to beat ;)

A nice poem

Love me in the Springtime, when all is green and new,
Love me in the Summer, when the sky is oh so blue,
Love me in the Autumn, when the leaves are turning brown,
Love me in the Winter, when the snow is falling down.

Love me when I'm happy, and even when I'm sad,
Love me when I'm good, or when I'm oh so bad,
Love me when I'm pretty, or if my face is plain,
Love me when I'm feeling good, or when I'm feeling pain.

Love me always darlin', in the rain or shining sun,
Love me always darlin', after all is said and done,
Love me always darlin', until all our life is through,
Love me always darlin', for I'll be lovin' you!
